Memorial Day
Officially observed on Monday, May 31, 2010
Memorial Day, which is observed on the last Monday of May, commemorates the men and women who died while in the military service. In observance of the holiday, many people visit cemeteries and memorials, and volunteers often place American flags on each grave site at national cemeteries. A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3:00 p.m. local time.
Where ever you go or whatever you do this weekend, have fun! I'm heading to Seward...

Seward's small boat harbor, with a cruise ship in the background.
Summer places in AlaskaThe most likely starting points for summer visits to Alaska are Anchorage,Seward, Juneau or Fairbanks. Major air carriers fly in to Anchorage, Juneau and Fairbanks. Cruise ships make stops in Juneau and in Seward.
