For those of you who know anyone in Massachusetts who is thinking about staying home on election day this Tuesday, you might want to tell them what Sarah Palin said about Scott Brown and the upcoming election on Sean Hannity:

“It’s going to send a very strong message that the status quo, even in Massachusetts, the status quo of just accepting the big growth of government and health care takeover measures that it seems capital hill wants to cram down our throats today, things are gonna start changing, thank God things are gonna start changing, but even, and I would love to be able to at some point interview “Senator Brown.” I anticipate victory there, but even if he doesn’t win already poll numbers showing that his message is resonating and his message is just, you know, common sense conservative values, principles, solutions, being plugged in to meet the challenges facing America today. People in his state, they’re listening to him and are getting excited about this dynamic candidate.”

Even if she HAS common sense (and I am one who does not believe she DOES) it is NOT ENOUGH:   "Sarah Palin has a new job as a news analyst on Fox News, but she's saying the same things she said during her unsuccessful run for the vice-presidency -- that "common sense" can solve America's national and international problems. Her critics, she reiterated in her debut appearance, "don't like the common-sense conservative solutions I articulate."

Unfortunately, she has yet to articulate an example of such a solution, and that's because there is no such thing. In fact, the idea of "common sense" solutions to America's problems contradicts every principle of the nation's Founding Fathers. George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe - and the majority of American voters then - believed that those in high office needed a broad range of knowledge and experience to solve the nation's problems. Common sense simply wasn't enough.

Washington and others believed that the presidency requires training, skills and experience in leadership, international affairs, political science, military strategy, economics, history, geography, science and a wide range of other knowledge. It requires skills in political negotiation and compromise with domestic and foreign leaders. Above all it requires a broad education, a brilliant, thoughtful mind, and skills in solving complex problems."
