Times are tough and the main remaining argument for HCR seemed to be guaranteeing health care coverage to those who don't already have it. To most working people this basically means costs will have to rise in order to pay for it all. Before welcoming a baby into your family, wouldn't it be prudent to make sure you can afford to raise this child properly? If your paycheck is shrinking, concern for "the other guy" shrinks as well... in lockstep  with your diminished cash flow, wouldn't you say?

Having said all that, MA already has excellent health coverage so this shocking reversal from Ted Kennedy to Scott Brown has little to do with healthcare.  The republicans have been honing their scare tactics from the distant past and know how to energize frightened, angry white voters. Hate to say it but even if Mrs. Palin was the republican candidate, SHE would've won...

we now have returned back to a two party system,it will take 10 months to find out if we want to turn away from socailism.and back to american freedom.

Ken,

Would we have American freedom if the republicans held a 60 seat majority in the senate? Would we be freer still with the republicans holding a 70 or 80 or 90 seat majority? How about almost total freedom at 99 seats seeing as you still believe in a two party system? What exactly do you mean by freedom, anyway?
